Tallinn 134km...

By Alex: After another sleepless Riga night filled with horrible cover band music and drunken fighting outside of the hostel, it was a relief when the alarm rang at 5:45. We were finally on our way Estonia! Mother opted for the business class of coach busses, with double the leg room, free coffee, wi-fi and even a stewardess. This is definitely a huge change from the cheap, student traveling that I have become accustomed to in the past 6 months (but I think I can get used to this).

Our drive has taken us through heavily wooded country side as well as small, crumbling towns. Most of it has been quite beautiful. It is a shame we have to go speeding past and can't slow down to absorb it better. Mother did make one goof at our rest stop. While trying to use up the rest of our Latvian money she attempted to pay for the bathroom and a bag of pastries using Lats rather than estonian kroons, not realizing that we were already in Estonia. It resulted in the use of the bathroom but no pastries…We also saw an ancient military aircraft dropping men dressed in army uniforms and using paratrooper style chutes, which was pretty cool. It was remarkable how low they were getting dropped, they were definitely much lower then I jumped from when I went skydiving. That pretty much everything exciting that has happened so far…I'm sure that I'll have to write later when we get to Tallinn

  1. "...horrible cover band music and drunken fighting...". Sounds just like home! Try to keep your Mom out of trouble. How about some pictures!
